World Fish Migration Day 2025

“Today is World Fish Migration Day! We’d like to highlight the importance of preserving crucial migratory corridors for fish, which are essential for them to reproduce, feed and complete their life cycles.

“Last fall, we partnered with Utah Trout Unlimited, Utah’s Watershed Restoration Initiative and Carbon County Utah to remove and replace a poorly functioning, undersized culvert in Clear Creek, a tributary of Scofield Reservoir.”

“Habitat fragmentation is a primary threat to many aquatic species in Utah. … The Utah Wildlife Migration Initiative plays a pivotal role in identifying and safeguarding crucial connective corridors linking fish and wildlife to vital habitat areas throughout the state.”
