Propose a Wildlife Movement Project

The Wildlife Migration Initiative is a grassroots effort that documents, improves, and preserves wildlife movement throughout Utah. To accomplish this mission, the Initiative enlists the help of partners to conduct research and monitoring projects throughout the state on a wide variety of species. Projects generally involve capturing animals and fitting them with tracking devices to monitor their movements. You can contribute to this important effort by submitting a project proposal using the form below

Project proposals are evaluated annually by regional and statewide committees. Committees are composed of representatives from state and federal natural resources agencies, cities, counties, conservation groups and others. Projects are selected based on merit and the resources available for funding. For helpful tips on developing a successful project proposal, we encourage you to contact a Wildlife Migration Initiative representative prior to submitting a proposal.
