Tracking birds & bats with GPS
Birds are capable of making long distance movements that can take them across state lines, over international borders, and in some cases even between continents. Additionally, they can make these types of long movements each year when they migrate. The ability of birds to change locations so easily has made it difficult to impossible to track their movements in detail until recently. We now have the ability to monitor bird movements accurately using sophisticated GPS tracking.
